June
03:18
|
|
||
I took your hands and tied them down
And said look here June, there's no way out.
I caught your eyes, and poured mine out.
And said if you fall, I'll be the next one down.
Well it's a long way down.
But I'll keep you sound and safe.
And it's a ways down south.
Back to where you came.
And We'll rest our bones
And sleep alone
But not for long.
But we've lived with our hearts.
And we've lived without.
I say no more, you're all mine now
and the river flowed and the gold came out
And you said that's us, we're finally found.
Well it's a long way down.
But I'll keep you sound and safe.
And it's a ways down south.
Back to where you came.
And we'll rest our bones
And sleep alone.
But not for long.
Repeat chorus
Yes we'll rest our bones
And sleep alone
But not for long...June.

Thief
04:57
|
|||
Like a thief in the night
You stole my heart
And wanting to run
Tore us apart
But I know the waiting
This feeling I'm feeling is wrong
But lock me to love
Cause this key belongs
And I'm done trying to apologize
This ends tonight must stay strong
For it won't be long
And I won't, see your face
Must leave this place, God give him grace tonight
Forever this time, like a thief in the night
They caught you red handed
With blood on your sleeve
They had us surrounded
Why couldn't I leave?
But I know the waiting
This feeling I'm feeling is wrong
But lock me to love
Cause this key belongs
And I'm done trying to apologize
This ends tonight must stay strong
For it won't be long
And I won't, see your face
Must leave this place, God give him grace tonight
Forever this time, like a thief in the night
Theres something in my bones
That keeps me hanging close
The pull is so fast
But now I stand alone

Things
02:37
|
|
||
If the things I've said don't make me a man.
Then I'll take back all the things I've said.
If the steps I take, don't make you move.
Then I won't take any steps no more.
Cuz if I sleep, and I don't wake up.
Then I'll find out if there's a God above.
And if there is, I'll shake his hand
And give him thanks for the life I had.
If the things I've seen don't make you dream.
Then things I've been weren't as they seemed.
If I bite my tongue, I cannot speak.
Then I'll up my chin and I'll grin my cheek.
Cuz if I sleep, and I don't wake up.
Then I'll find out if there's a God above.
And if there is, I'll shake his hand
And give him thanks for the love I had.
For the love I had… For the love I had...

Grace
02:49
|
|
||
Follow me up the road
Where the wild flowers grow
Oh and in the Grace of June
I learned most of love from you
And I feel fine..
Follow me up the creek
Where I'll see who I used to be
Oh and in the grace of love
I learned most of what I've become
And I'll be fine.
Follow me through the gate.
Where my heart and soul are weighed.
Oh and in the Grace of light.
I'll give up the rest of mine.
And we'll all be fine..
I'm Home.

One
03:32
|
|
||
Take me back to where I belong.
Where my mother once told me God is love.
Where I walk so long that I could feel the soil and my bones become one.
become one…
And I've lost myself too far off the road
Where no hounds and no yellin’ could guide me home
So my father's voice and God's above just fade into one.
into one..
One by one, we walk this path.
And one by one, we make it back,
One by one, and two by three.
All these trails have redefined me.
(Repeat chorus)
Take me back to where I belong.
Where my mother once told me God is love.
Where I walk so long that I could feel soil in my bones become one.
become one…

Valley
02:30
|
|
||
Did you want love at all?
See I've been here before.
Down a road lined with hope, like flowers that won't--survive the cold.
And this valley it calls.
And it begs for a soul.
And I once would have loved to give up my own.
but now, I'll just never know
But if I could go back.
How would time react?
would it push? would it shove? would it fit like a glove?
Cos it's where we belonged.
If you are the light
And I am the sky
Let it grow, let it burn, for all it was worth--
when we were alive.
When you're from a valley this cold, with flowerless roads…
Did you want love at all?

Eyes
03:24
|
|
||
May your eyes always be blue
So if I ever try to lie
The look that they would give
Would send the words back to my mind
But if I ever succeed, and your promise I do break
I'll make it right, whatever it takes
May your voice always be soft
So if I ever try to yell
The guilt would fill my lungs
And my tongue would start to swell
But if my mouth ever allows it
and your promise I do break, I'll make it right
Whatever it takes.
And I've never felt so weak
In my life, and I'm not afraid.
May forever mean the same.
Today and years away.
So we can trade our hearts
and never feel afraid.
For if we ever succeed, and our promises we break
We'll make it right, whatever it takes.

Rosewoods
Rosewoods was founded by Maria Leone and Coleton Joe in early 2014 after discovering they had similar tastes in music. After one meeting of sharing original songs, both were equally impressed with the others songwriting abilities. The two began writing music together and after only 2 months they had several songs ready to be recorded and shared. The future holds even more to come. ... more
